Kitselas First Nation CCP Communications and Engagement Strategy

The Project

Meraki was hired to develop and implement the first phase of community engagement for the Nation’s first Comprehensive Community Plan.  We worked closely with our client and the Nation's CCP Advisory Committee to develop a robust communications and engagement strategy encouraging widespread participation from Members and supporting meaningful input for the CCP.  Engagement techniques included a variety of interactive sessions with Elders, youth, general community members, staff and management as well as a community survey directed to off-Reserve Members and those unable to attend a session.  CCP work plan development, advisory support and communications content were also provided to our client.  All sessions were well attended including an Elder's specific workshop session with 18 participating Elders.  A total of 81 Members participated in the community survey.
