Housing Needs Assessment and Strategy

Meraki partnered with the snpink’tn Indian Band to co-create a comprehensive Housing Needs Assessment and 20-year Housing Strategy grounded in syilx values, community knowledge, and evidence-based planning. Through meaningful Member engagement, technical analysis, and Indigenous ways of knowing, the project established a shared vision and practical implementation framework to guide housing, neighbourhood planning, and community wellbeing for current and future generations.

A comprehensive communications and engagement strategy was developed to reach a broad cross-section of the community. Engagement activities were intentionally designed to hear from youth, Elders, women, men, families, and Members living both on and off Reserve, reflecting the collaborative and balanced perspectives embodied in the enowkinwixw process. This approach helped ensure the Housing Strategy was shaped by community voices and grounded in snpink’tn values and priorities.
