Age-Friendly Plan

Meraki partnered with the Town of Princeton to undertake an Age-Friendly Needs Assessment and develop an Age-Friendly Community Plan that helps ensure older adults can continue to live safely, independently, and with a strong sense of belonging in the community they call home. Developed in the wake of the 2021 floods, the project responded to both immediate and long-term community needs while creating a shared vision for a more accessible, inclusive, and resilient future.

Working closely with the Town, we established and facilitated an Age-Friendly Steering Committee and led a comprehensive community engagement process involving seniors, caregivers, service providers, community organizations, and residents. The needs assessment provided a clear understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and priorities identified by older adults, creating the foundation for the Action Plan and ensuring recommendations reflected the lived experiences of the community.

Guided by the World Health Organization’s Age-Friendly Communities framework, the Plan identifies practical goals and actions across housing, transportation, outdoor spaces, communication, social inclusion, community services, and civic participation. The result is a practical roadmap that supports aging in place while strengthening community resilience and quality of life for current and future generations.
