The Project

The Town of Princeton experienced several hardships over the past few years including flooding in 2021 that destroyed several affordable housing units, many of which were home to Princeton seniors. Meraki was contracted by the Town of Princeton to conduct a needs assessment and action plan to better understand current issues, challenges and opportunities from the perspective of older adults living in the Town. We were responsible for developing the work plan, establishing an Age-Friendly Steering Committee and seeing the project through from start to finish. The Plan, which included extensive input from seniors, senior service providers and the larger community, identifies goals, policies and services/programs/amenities to help seniors better age in place in the community they call home.  Following the WHO model, topics covered in the plan included, but were not limited to, housing, transportation, communications, outdoor spaces and buildings and social inclusion.
