The Project

Meraki successfully secured funding for the Town of Princeton to develop a Poverty Reduction Strategy focused on reducing housing challenges and homelessness in Town. We developed and implemented a multi-faceted engagement strategy including a comprehensive housing needs survey to support this project and the Princeton Housing Needs Report project to avoid engagement burnout by introducing two separate surveys to the community. Local service providers who work with vulnerable residents were gathered as part of a stakeholder sharing circle to learn more about Princeton’s most housing-insecure residents and one on one open-ended interviews were conducted with residents impacted by an affordable housing shortage.

The project, currently underway, will result in a realistic, ‘unique to Princeton’ road map for addressing housing challenges and homelessness at the municipal level, considering what is within the mandate of the municipality and in consideration of multi-sector private, non-profit and public partnerships.
